One is constrained to observe that the present debacle is, in the main, the handiwork of Mr. Trump himself. That, and an electorate which grows daily less intelligent and more fanatical. The prospect ahead is distinctly alarming. The presidential contest of 2028 may well prove one of the most consequential in a century.
